This is not new and its amiss of me not to have added this sooner, but I started digging into a few things to do some advanced topics later and well, never realised the true potential of this add on; its always been on my “to do ” list and i have a feeling that despite Exodus not allowing its use, that SF will be used a lot more with the TV Portal release of its custom EPG app. You may have heard of the author, Spoyser, former lead ‘droid dev for team Kodi, so you know this is a solid stable addon.

What Is Super Favourites?

In a nutshell Super Favourites allows you to create you own custom Super-Add on with all the best bits of all your favourite add ons (with a few exceptions), along with the bits of Kodi that you use the most. In it’s simplest use case Super Favourites, acts very similar to the standard Kodi favourites in that you add items to it (in a couple of ways, see later), and can then view them in one easy to use list.

However, whereas Kodi favourites is simply a flat list of items, Super Favourites allows a hierarchical structure, of “Super Folders” into which you can add items, e.g. you could have a folder called Movies, Movies 3D, or Cartoons containing cartoon add ons, another called The Wife in which you put items that the wife used most often, another called live TV Streams, etc etc

A few things…

First things is to enable the Super Favourite global menu system – so you can access from anywhere in Kodi. super favourite global menu You will note looking through settings there are a ton of options and twiddles, many of which I have to be honest and say I am yet to fully explore, so expect an advanced article in the future…

Custom Folders

The really nice immediate function of SF is to create multiple custom folders and out them *outside* of kodi – so doing  fresh start doesn’t erase them; here you can see I created mine in my local Dropbox folder – meaning its backed up into the cloud automatically. This also means you can link all your devices via Dropbox and have them update your favs across all your devices. Now you can create a custom selection of folders: super favourite custom folders If you have favourites already in Kodi you also have a function to copy them across, or for more advanced users, you can edit the xml files directly for bulk transfers.  Super Favourites is a great add-on that can allow you to set icons, save and transfer your favourites, and help with your epg integration.  If you have any questions please visit us at http://ares-project.uk.
